The Woodlands and nearby Spring communities: comparing housing options
Quick answer. The Woodlands is one master-planned community with villages, a town center and limited new construction. Spring is a broad area of separate neighborhoods, several still building, often with more house for the money. Compare total cost, district and commute.

What makes The Woodlands different?
It is a single planned community along I-45 with its own township, village centers, trails and a real downtown. Most of it is built out, so the majority of homes are resale.
What does Spring offer?
Spring covers a large part of north Harris County and reaches into Montgomery County. It includes gated golf communities, acreage-lot subdivisions and newer master-planned sections where builders are still active.
How do schools compare?
Most of The Woodlands is in Conroe ISD, with Creekside Park in Tomball ISD. Spring addresses may be in Spring ISD, Klein ISD or Conroe ISD. Always check the specific address.
How do costs compare?
Look past the price. Tax rates, MUD taxes, HOA dues and the age of the home change the monthly cost and the maintenance you should expect.
Which is right for me?
If you want an established community with everything inside it, start with The Woodlands. If you want a newer home or a larger lot nearby, look at Spring. I can show you both in one afternoon.
